Filing Tax return from India

Hello,

I am currently a resident of Germany on a Blue Card, planning to relocate to India soon. I need to file my 2026 income tax return for German-sourced income.

Can I submit the return electronically from outside Germany (e.g., via ELSTER) and provide my Indian bank account details for any potential refund?

Please advise on:

1. Whether this is possible.
2. Key steps and considerations

That should be possible. But you should get your certificate as long as you're registered and actually living in Germany. It won't be possible from abroad. It will take up to a fortnight.
